Potluck Breakfast July 28, 2010
"It's fear of the unknown. The unknown is what it is. And to be frightened of it is what sends everybody scurrying around chasing dreams, illusions, wars, peace, love, hate, all that--it's all illusion. Unknown is what it is. Accept that it's unknown and it's plain sailing. Everything is unknown--then you're ahead of the game. That's what it is. Right?"- j lennon

Killradio Weekly News in Review 27 July 2010
The news show that believes in science and reason!
DJ bennett presents this week's Weekly News in Review from harpers.org (and the killradio news team)
also included:
the Jenny McCarthy Body Count
and What's the Harm? a guide for critical thinking -- this time discussing Jehovah's Witnesses! They think the Bible knows more than modern medicine -- I guess because medicine changes all the time as we learn more about things -- but the Bible never changes. Dammit, why can't science stand still?
Warning: I am not nice to wackos! If you accept 911Truth's delusions, or you think global warming is a con, or that homeopathy is better medicine, I think you're an idiot and will call you one too. I refuse to be PC.
If you do listen to this news, will you drop me an email to chillroom@gmail.com? I doubt I'll ever hear from anyone, but who knows when I could be surprised?

Not So Shy John Show 7/25/10 Part 1
Today's show started out with Captain Sensible, doing Happy Talk, and then, Lester Butler did Goin To the Church. Depesh Mode contributed John The Revelator, then, Jr. Walker and the Allstars did Money (that's what I want!). Judas Priest did Paint it Black, and then Dread Zeppelin did Jungle Boogie. I brought in this CD called The Voice of the Homeless, and the first cut from there was They Don't Make Love Like They Used To, and also Thank God I Quit Drinkin'.
Laurie Anderson played Beautiful Red Dress, Louie Prima and Keely Smith doing That Old Black Magic, and the set wraps up with The Commitments, performing Land of 1,000 Dances.

Not So Shy John Show 7/25/10 Part 2
During this episode, I feature my friend and co-musician, Jay Howard, We've just added drums to several tracks we've been working on, so I wanted to try these on the air, for listenability and to listen to the mix. So, I played:
Doing Time, Bleeding, Speedball, Sandcrabs, Hush, Secret Rendezvous, Goodbyes, Raven, Robbing a Paiesa, and Man Down.
Then, I played a new add EP, by The Workers, their album Theater of the Distraught; the four songs are Aggression, Leave You With I Love You, Cat's Eyes, and Single. That was the hour.

Not So Shy John Show 7/25/10 Part 3
Part Three I start by reading two articles from the Los Angeles Sunday Times. The first one is about the deaths at the Love parade festival going on in Germany, comparing that to our recent death at the Electric daisy carnival here in L.A.
The second article is about recent news reporting that we suffer from short attention spans, because of web use. This article says not to worry, it's not true.
Then, I play two songs from Brian Allen's April's Dad CD, Martian Girl, and Cold as Steel. Wrong Love is a reading from The Book of Afflictions, done by me. Then it's If I Were A Carpenter, as done by Leon Russel, Linda Ronstadt does When Will I Be Loved, The Leningrad Cowboys do Knockin on Heaven's Door.
Shirley Q. Liquor sings Surrounded By Ignunce, Self promting Shy John does Nothing in the World, and the Sex Pistols wrap up this part with Sid Vicious singing My Way.
