Salute to Kate Bush

The Chill Room, 3 August 2012, 11pm PSt on killradio.org

160k, 75 minutes, a deep listen in appreciation

Kate Bush appeared suddenly in 1977 with the worldwide hit "Wuthering Heights," and for the next fifteen years she was one of the ultimate cult stars of British pop with a fantastically devoted fan base. Then she took a long leave and raised a child and came back to the public in 2005. Tonight in honor of Kate's 54th birthday July 30, I listen back to her music over the era and jump with her to the present. So if you don't know her music let this be a bit of introduction, and a reminder of her powerful poetic musicality. This is progressive rock sprinkled with a touch of sadness. This is the music of our time.

Kate Suit

Killradio Weekly News in Review 28 Dec 2010

The news show of science and reason!

What we have here is this week's Weekly News in Review from harpers.org (and the killradio news team)

It's the last week of 2010 and politics is as ugly as ever.

A climate change denier is emailing me "self-destructing emails" which are made up of lies about climate change (why would they self-destruct if they were true?).  As predicted by climate change science, we are experiencing undeniable weather extremes (no snow at all in Canada in February during the Winter Olympics with a true snowcropalypse on our East Coast this December), while 40% of the ice sheets over the Arctic have vanished with loss of much animal life, a full 2 degree Fahrenheit rise in water temperature there, and in the U.S. major forests, which should be drawing in carbon dioxide are, because of insect infestation, instead PRODUCING more CO2 than it is drawing out.  And it is getting worse, folks -- yet the deniers (Republicans, neocons, morons, and assholes) think that because it's cold in winter that means there's no climate change.  Deniers are idiots.

Turn off Fox News, they hate the truth.

The entire Bush Administration belongs in prison for their traitorous anti-Constitutional behavior.

If you do listen to this news, will you drop me an email to chillroom@gmail.com?  I doubt I'll ever hear from anyone, certainly haven't heard from anyone yet, but who knows when I could be surprised?

No commercials.  Plenty to think about.  Be prepared to think.

Killradio Weekly News in Review 9 November 2010

The news show of science and reason!

What we have here is this week's Weekly News in Review from harpers.org (and the killradio news team)

also includes What's the Harm? a guide for critical thinking  -- this time discussing harm by expert witnesses.  We want there to be experts to help us in times of question -- but we also have to be wary of what they say, because they too can bring in pseudoscience and bias.  (It is always right to ask questions, but you have to listen to the answers too.)

This week's show features the post election news.

Also, we hear briefly about how G.W. Bush has published his Presidential memoirs and conveniently forgotten about his lies and prejudices.  He claimed as usual that all his sources told him there were WMD in Iraq.  But all that means is that the prick only heard what he wanted to hear and only asked people who would agree with him.

The entire Bush Administration belongs in prison for their traitorous anti-Constitutional behavior.
