Then, there was a short editorial break, and then a cover of a GG Allin song, that you might want to cover your ears for...
But! Then, a seven minute Prelude in C Minor, a Bach piece on the pipe organ, and then, Mary Hopkins, Streets of London. Then you will hear a surprising Marilyn Manson set, Another Brick in the Wall, and Like A Virgin.
Okay. Then, I read a piece by Steve Lopez, "Taking pot shots at L.A"., out of Saturday's paper, and another piece, about a town in Colorado, Black hawk, that has outlawed bicycle riders off of it's main street, because of all of the busses carrying gamblers into town, and the road is too narrow. $68 fine.
Then, that mashup, "Pink Sabbath", hard to explain, just listen. Then the Maxwell St. Kletzmer Band, doing their version of Rumania, Rumania, followed by MC5 doing Ramblin Rose, live, and Meatloaf, doing Life is a Lemon, and I Want My Money Back.
At this point, I read an article about a police memo, "Deputies urged to use discretion in making arrests"

Well, love, hate, lust and melancholy....
Started out with some circus music, and then we went into Diddy Wah Diddy, by Captain Beefheart, and then Why Can't I Touch It, by The Buzzcocks, then, Angel From Montgomery, done by Bonnie Raitt and John Prine. Next up, What Do You Do For Money, Honey, by ACDC, and Kisses Sweeter Than Wine, done by Pete Seeger. Brian Tracy is not a musician, but I played a cut from him, Manage Your Time Well.
GG Allin contributed I Hate People, I'm pretty sure he did. Then, Glen Miller does Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby?, followed by Gil Scott Heron doing Home is Where The Hatred Is. Golden Earring does Who Do You Love?, and then George Thorogood does the same song, for comparison. Love Is A Many Splendored Thing, so sings Englebert Humperdink. Johnny Winter tries Walkin By Myself, this song is a personal theme in my life...Jackie Gleason does A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody, he used to be a bandleader.
Gogol Bordello presents Think Locally, Fuck Globally, and then there is a short Hank Williams family set; H.W. Sr. does You Win Again and Hey, Good Lookin', H.W. Jr. does How's My Ex Treating You?, and back to Sr. for Be Careful of the Stones That You Throw. The Henry Rollins Band plays Liar, a perfect description of my ex girlfriend; listen carefully...Howlin Wolf plays You'll Be Mine, followed by an Iggy Pop set, Never Met a Girl Like You Before, I Wanna Be Your Dog, and Moonlight Lady.

You Send It, We'll Play It, 8/6/10, in one piece
This week's all new music show starts out with The Moviestar Junkies Cd release from Voodoo Rhythm Records, A Poison Tree, in it's entirety. Then, I tried a sampler of The Gravity Guild, coming to us from North Hollywood.
My next presentation comes from Jay Howard, Alias Dave (Billy Sanchez, WKND) Moreno, and myself, a seven song EP that was performed mostly by Jay, with contributions from a community of US, all loving, supportive friends who want to propel US all to some prosperity and security. The songs are: Raven, Bump In The Night, Goodbyes, Hush, Secret Rendezvous, Speedball, and Robbing a Pisa. All of them represent stages in Jay's life, experiences close to him. He has more material on the way, I've heard even better, more evolved stuff to come...I hope you enjoy it as much as US did creating it.
Okay, then the album Swept Away, by Circular Rubbing Motion, great band with a full, lively, clever sound, the songs Swept Away, Como Esta Usted, Motel 6, Angry Boy, and Injured Heart.
Then, some experimental techno by VioSac, from their CD, Rustypile. Played Basaltic dream, Sonnet, Snubs Munch, and Short Piece in the "Electronic Style", and also Do You See Any People?

Not So Shy John, "Mea Culpa" Show 8/1/10 Volume Two
Whoaa! So much music was played this second part of the show! Be prepared for some bawdy comedy, too. Starting with The Children of Bodom, doing a Britney Spears cover, Oops, I Did It Again. Then a Chris Rock bit, about Poor White People, then Sam Kinison gives us his view on The Homeless, and then Rodney Dangerfield does some "blue", about Hookers and Toasters, and then Sam Kinison returns for a bit about Blowjobs. Yeah. Followed that with Rusty Warren giving her version of Frankie and Johnny.
Chumbawamba followed that with Mouthful of Shit, Timebomb, and Give The Anarchist a Cigarette. had to follow that up with Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, doing Smoke, Smoke, Smoke That Cigarette.
David Rose contributes The Stripper, and then the next set is a short visit to the Dead Kennedys, they do Riot, Religous Vomit, and California Uber Alles, and I had to add We've Got a Bigger Problem Now. Dick Dale did Banzai Wipeout, and then, Zip A Dee Doo Dah, from The Song of the South, and Gary Jules does Mad World, from Donnie Darko. Donovan plays Universal Soldier, and back to Dick Dale, Commanche, and Ring of Fire.
A Spoonful of Sugar Helps the Medicine Go Down, and then Homo Truck Drivin' Man, and Larry Fisher does his My Name is Larry, and Tiny Tim and Brave Combo cover Stairway to Heaven.
Next set of music starts with Fatboy Slim, The Rockefeller Skank, and then Fear, with I Love Livin' in the City, and Ugly as You. Then, a bit of Floyd Cramer, with an instrumental version of Crazy, and Zero Mostel, Sunrise, Sunset. Had to play Flogging Molly, doing Every Dog Has His Day, and then Frank and Nancy Sinatra, Saying Something Stupid...
Then a fit of Frank Zappa, Honey, Don't You Want a Man Like Me?, Broken Hearts are for Assholes, Bolero, and Wind Up Workin' at a Gas Station. Followed with Fred Eaglesmith, Crazier, Fred Lane, Dial O for Bigelow, and Gary Moore, Walkin' By Myself. Wow!

Not So Shy John, "Mea Culpa" Show 8/1/10
This show, the "Mea Culpa" show, starts with some Esquivel, Sentimental Journey,Latin-esque, Mucha Muchacha, and Surfboard; from the Space Age Bachelor Pad Music CD. Next, is a short piece by Alan Watts, Being Aware of Awareness, and this first set ends with Arcade Fire, doing a Talking Heads cover, This Must Be The Place.
There is a band, who got every Monday night in August at the Silverlake Lounge, they're called Twilight Sleep, and we received a CD from them, and I played two songs, "the other one", and "comme il faut", I notice they're in lower case on the disc. Then, The Red Devils played She's Dangerous, and I Wish You Would.
Next, I tried to recreate some of the show that was last night at Beyond Baroque, in Venice, by Max Sympathy, backed by Best Available Technology (BAT), an "experimental" "art" band? I read a poem by Max, called "Goth Child". Followed by the Voice of the Homeless CD, a song called Thank God I Quit Drinkin'
Then, hear Prelude in C Minor, by Bach, on pipe organ. After that, some Ulean Pipes, lovely bagpipe music, an Irish March (which was used as background to talk over, hope you don't mind). Then Bauhaus did St. Vitus Dance, and Billie holiday did Pennies From heaven.
For some inspiration, Brian tracy does a short talk on the subjuct of The Importance of a Positive Attitude, listen up. To keep the mood going, The Buzzcocks did Everybody's Happy Nowadays, and also Harmony in my Head. Then, Cab Calloway, with Reefer Man, and Canned Heat, with Got My Mojo Workin', and then Amphetamine Annie. Followed that with Charlie McCoy, doing Amazing Grace, on harmonica, and then Chet Atkins, with Rocky Top.

Not So Shy John Show 7/25/10 Part 1
Today's show started out with Captain Sensible, doing Happy Talk, and then, Lester Butler did Goin To the Church. Depesh Mode contributed John The Revelator, then, Jr. Walker and the Allstars did Money (that's what I want!). Judas Priest did Paint it Black, and then Dread Zeppelin did Jungle Boogie. I brought in this CD called The Voice of the Homeless, and the first cut from there was They Don't Make Love Like They Used To, and also Thank God I Quit Drinkin'.
Laurie Anderson played Beautiful Red Dress, Louie Prima and Keely Smith doing That Old Black Magic, and the set wraps up with The Commitments, performing Land of 1,000 Dances.
